- Go to the User Name box, enter your user name.
NOTE: The user name is generally the part of your email address before the “@” symbol. As some ISPs require the complete email address, you may need to contact your ISP for correct information.
- Go to the Password box and enter the password that your ISP would have provided you.
NOTE: If you wish to make Outlook remember your email account password, you will need to select the checkbox next to the Remember password.
- You will need to select the checkbox next to “Require logon by using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)” if your ISP requires it. Selecting this checkbox will allow you to log on by using Secure Password Authentication.

- You are logged on to the SMTP server.
- You are logged on to the POP3 server.
- The connection of your system to the Internet will be confirmed.
